Hands of Grace is an interfaith collaboration that offers dinner and a welcome every Wednesday night for people who are homeless or struggling. Coordinated by the outreach committee at Faith Episcopal Church in collaboration with partners from Mission Lutheran Church, Baha’i Faith, Latter-Day Saints – Laguna Niguel Stake, and Laguna Niguel Presbyterian. Vineyard Church in Laguna Niguel provides food occasionally and individuals are referred to San Clemente-based iHOPE for further services and the opportunity to meet with a social worker for assistance with benefit determination and other services.

homeless2Our goal for Hands of Grace is to prepare healthy, homemade meals and warm hospitality shared by guests and volunteers in fellowship. We estimate that 600 meals were served in 2015. We also provided toiletries and clothing along with breakfast bags and other food items from our pantry of contributed items. Guests can use our fax and mailing address as needed and other types of financial and emotional support is provided on a limited basis.
A popular aspect of this program is our partnership with the Laguna Niguel YMCA, which offers shower vouchers purchased through designated contributions to the program. Approximately 1000 shower vouchers were given to Hands of Grace guests last year.

An interfaith service is held the Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving. Guests share an inspirational message tied to gratitude. We celebrate Christmas with a huge party with gifts, traditional Christmas dinner and hotel vouchers for each of our guests.
